ASHT Executive Board & Voting Members
Airdrie Sky High Twirlers is a non-profit society that is governed by an Executive Board of volunteers. Each term is two years and voted on in the AGM each year. The Executive positions on the board are the Chair*, Vice-Chair, Treasurer & Secretary. Additional voting members of the board are the Past-Chair, Registrar and Parent Lead.
*On the ASHT board, the Chair will only vote in the event of a tie.
Amber Townsley
Chair
Hello! My name is Amber, and I am thrilled to serve as the new Chair of the Airdrie Sky High Twirlers! My family has been a proud part of the ASHT community for the past four years, and it has been such a joy watching my daughter progress from our intro programs all the way to the competitive team. As an Airdrie resident, I am committed to the growth and success of our club. My goal as Chair is to lead with open communication, ensuring that our board remains accessible to our members. Like all of you, I want the absolute best for our athletes, and I am dedicated to doing whatever I can to support our coaches and families. I look forward to a fantastic season ahead, if you see me at the gym, please stop by and say hello!
Lori Kirby
Vice Chair
Lori is the Vice Chair of Airdrie Sky High Twirlers and, most importantly, a very proud Sky High mom to Sawyer.
Watching Sawyer grow through baton — not only as an athlete, but in her confidence and sense of belonging — is what made Lori fall in love with the sport and the Sky High community. She is especially proud of the way athletes, coaches and families genuinely support and look out for one another. Lori loves that Sky High can be competitive while still being fun, welcoming and focused on lifting kids up.
By day, Lori works with children and teens as a Child Development Advisor with Rocky View Schools and has a background in youth and family support, counselling and community programming. She strongly believes in the power of relationships and in creating spaces where young people feel supported, included and encouraged to grow.
Lori brings that same philosophy to the Sky High board, along with plenty of enthusiasm, a good sense of humour and a willingness to jump in wherever she’s needed. When she’s not cheering from the sidelines, she can usually be found volunteering, organizing something, or agreeing to another job she definitely had time for — most likely with an iced coffee in hand.
She is incredibly proud to be part of a club where kids can work hard, have fun, find their people and know that someone is always in their corner.
Mike DeBoer
Treasurer
Mike has been the proud parent of a twirler with Airdrie Sky High for four years and is a new member of the Board. He brings past board experience in both public and not-for-profit sectors having previous experience as Chair, Vice-Chair and member-at-large. In a professional capacity, Mike is Vice-President of a large home building company that operates in Calgary and Area and builds homes in several Airdrie communities. In this role he is familiar with creating and managing budgets, overseeing teams, and projects management.
