COVID-19 has changed our world, and the sport of baton twirling is no exception.  ASHT will be following the government guidelines along with our venues’ rules with regard to COVID19. Hand sanitizer and wipes will be on hand.

Masks are to be worn in and out of our venues and your twirler is welcome (but it is not mandatory) to wear one while twirling if they choose.

Rolls & Compulsories

COACH RECOMMENDED

The focus of this class is rolls, compulsories and/or short program.

Rolls are a mode of baton twirling that balance, revolve and move the baton on and around the body without the security of gripping the baton in the hands. Rolls require precise placement and pattern and generally need a little extra practice time for the athletes to become confident and consistent in this area of baton twirling.

Compulsories and Short Program are mandatory events for any athlete who is competing in the freestyle event. The written descriptions for these events are very detailed and the athletes strive to perform each skill as close to the written description as possible.

This class will focus on extra training specifically for this routine.  Classes typically are twice per month separate from regular baton classes.

This class does NOT include choreography for these routines.

It is highly recommended if you are enrolling in Freestyle training that you should also be enrolling in Rolls & Compulsories.
